Hi! I'm Rachel, a trained postpartum birth and doula. I received my training through DONA International and have continued my education of the birth world through several weekend long birth conferences.
I worked as a nanny for over two years, specializing in long term childcare. It was during this time I decided to continue my journey by becoming a postpartum doula in order to assist families during one of the most exciting times of their lives.
I have a huge passion to provide care for the special needs community in our area. I work relief for an organization in Belmont, NC that provides continuous care for children and adults with intellectual developmental disabilities and delicate medical conditions. There I get to spend time with some super amazing individuals and help them learn and live by introducing art into their lives.
In my free time you can find me at a local coffee shop or in my art studio. I also love yoga and hope to one day use it to teach prenatal and postpartum women to learn to love their new bodies.
Since starting postpartum work, my hope for our community has become much clearer. My hope is to use all of my training, experience, and passion to help you throughout this new journey. With evidenced-based work and my heart connected to your experience, I will work hard to create a nurturing community I believe we all need.
